Surface energy and water balance in the Tibetian Plateau

Presenting person: Prof. Dr. Kenji Tanaka, Kumamoto Univ. Japan
Th. 2007-10-18 (16:15), H6

The Tibetan Plateau has been thought to play an important role as an elevated heat source in the evolution of asian monsoon. Field measurements over the Tibetan Plateau have been conducted as the subprogram of the Global Energy and Water cycle Experiment (GEWEX). In this lecture, the summary of the field observation in the Tibetan Plateau is introduced, including some results of the diurnal/seasonal variation of surface energy fluxes.
