Loess and loess like sediments cover approximately 80 % of the Vovjodina region (Northern Serbia). Vojvodinian loess-paleosol sequences are among the oldest and most complete loess sediments in Europe. Loess-paleosol sequences of Srem\'s and Titel\'s Loess Plateau reaching almost with maximal thickness of 40 m preserves paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmetal records of the Middle and Upper Pleistocene. With resepct to the great importance of loess-paleosol sediments located in Vojvodina, the number and level of investigations, so far, are relative low, despite their special position between well-studied western/central European and eastern European loess areas and between \"classical\" loess-covered latitudes and Mediterranean loess. In 1997 Quaternary research centre of Novi Sad University began multidisciplinary investigations of loess-paleosol sequences in Vojvodina. Results of this research project revealed great potential for detailed reconstruction of natural processes coupled with climatic change during the last 850 ka in this part of Europe.
