GfÖ dissertation award 2017 for Andreas Schweiger

Andreas Schweiger received this years‘ dissertation award of the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland (GfÖ) for his thesis on the long-term ecological effects of historic acidification on plant communities of spring fens in the lower mountain ranges around Bayreuth, which he conducted at the Department of Biogeography. The award ceremony took place at the the Joint Annual Meeting of the GfÖ, British Ecological Society, the Ecological Society of the Netherlands and the European Ecological Federation in Ghent, Belgium. Andreas Schweiger is currently working at the Chair of Plant Ecology on ecological legacies, temporal lags and disequilibrium dynamics in ecosystems.
