Crossing borders: Ecosystem services

Dr. Matthias Schröter, UFZ Leipzig, and Prof. Thomas Koellner BayCEER, University of Bayreuth, conduct together the newly established working group "sTeleBES - Tele Coupled use of biodiversity and ecosystem services: synthesis of concepts, methods and evidence" at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig. Their aim is to make those services of ecosystems ascertainable which reach beyond a defined region or country. Based on the results of their work guidelines for national ecosystem accounting of inter-regional flows of ecosystem services will be developed. A first workshop will take place in early December.
