In "Science": Productivity and plant species richness
2015-07-20
By using data from coordinated surveys conducted throughout grasslands worldwide and comprising a wide range of site productivities, a team of scientists including disturbance ecology and biogeography from the University of Bayreuth shows in Science, that plant diversity peaks at intermediate productivity. The relationship is valid regional and global scales and gives evicende for a controversal hypothesis.
