Research in between river and ground water
2015-06-29
The EU funded project HypoTRAIN is a training network for enhancing the understanding of complex physical, chemical and biological process interactions in hyporheic zone, the dynamic and complex transition regions between rivers and aquifers. Turnover and degradation of nutrients and pollutants are prominent ecological services of these systems. The participating PhD students recently met in a first summer school in Berlin. Marcus Horn, Ecological Microbiology group at BayCEER, is supervising one of the research projects.
