In Nature News & Views Prof. Bettina Engelbrecht comments on a paper of Choat et al.: An analysis of the physiological vulnerability of different trees shows that forests worldwide are at equally high risk of succumbing to increases in drought conditions due to xylem embolism. A coordinated network of standardized experiments is needed to further advance our understanding of climate-change responses in ecosystems worldwide.
